텐트 찾아다니다 결국... Sierra Designs Assailant 1
Nemo Equipment사의 Nano 텐트가 마음에들어 결재까지 하였는데, 판매처(마운틴기어)에서 자꾸 배송을 1주일씩 늦추더니 1달쯤 지나니 재고가 없다는 황당한 소리를 하더라. 그리고 Nano 텐트는 단종되었다...
인연이 아니려니 생각하고
상심하던차... 5월달에 아르바이트했던 돈이 9월에 소리소문없이 입금이 되고, 추석맞이 10% 추가 DC를 해준다는 판매처에 주문해서 받은 텐트가 바로 'Sierra Designs Assailant 1' 이다.
일단 미리 정한 요건에는 모두 맞는다. (Style은 어떤지 모르지만)
폴이 3개, 본체와함께 접어서 70리터 배낭에 조금 빠듯한 듯 싶지만 가로로 들어간다.
깔끔하게 자립되고,
플라이가 없는 싱글월, Drizone 원단.
4방향 모두에 환기구가 있다.
한가지 눈에 띄는 단점: 텐트 내부에 앉을 수가 없다. 잠만자는 용도로 쓰기에는 너무 크지 않나 싶다. 그나마 다행인것은 내부에 짐을 둘 공간이 있다는 점.
▶ 결로 ◀
지난주 경반분교에서 사용한 결과 결로는 결로지만, 습기를 피할수는 없다.
9월 25일 저녁 경반분교는 무척 습한 날씨였다. 날이 갑자기 추워진 탓인지 모르지만.
아침에 보니 다른 텐트들의 플라이는 거의 물에서 막 건진 수준(쫌 과장됨)의 결로와
그로 인해 이너텐트로 떨어지는 물방울.
스트링을 당겨놓지 않은 텐트는 플라이와 이너가 붙어서 이너텐트 안에도 물이 고였다는.
그리고 저 놈도
얼굴쪽은 천정은 환기가 잘되었는지 습기가 없었지만, 중앙부분, 가장 큰 환기창이 앞뒤로 통과하는 천정에는 분무기로 물을 뿌린것 처럼 이슬이 맺혀있었다.
다만, 투습기능 때문인지 아침에 바람 살랑살랑부니 금방 말랐다는 점은 있다.
국내 사용기등을 보고나니, 건조한 한겨울에는 결로가 그렇게 심하지 않을 것 같다는 생각이다.
해외 사용기는 평이 그다지 좋지않고, SD에서도 제품을 더이상 만들지도 않고, 홈페이지에도 어떠한 정보를 남겨두지도 않았다.
세사람의 사용기가 있는데
첫번째 분은 아주 불만이 많으시다.(제일 비싸게 사셔서 그런가??) 쓰레기라고...(ㅜㅜ)
두번째 분도, 눈을 맞을경우 흘러내리지 못하고 쌓여서 무너질 수 있다는 점을 지적하고, 폴이 교차하는 관계로 걸린다는 단점을 지적...(반품하셨다네)
세번째 분은, 마음에 드신듯 한데 지퍼가 시원찮아 별 한개를 빼셨다는...
사용해보니 실제로 지퍼가 좀 시원찮다.
그리고 폴을 끼울때 크로스되는 부분에서 종종 걸려서 손이 그곳까지 가야한다.
그리고 눈은, 눈이 쌓이면 얼마나 쌓일까... 그 무게가 얼마나 나갈까. 이건 겪어보기 전에는 뭐라 말을 할 수 없겠지만, 폴을 바깥쪽에 끼워넣는 구조상, 눈이 잘 흘러내리지 못할 것은 명백한 듯하다.

This tent is the biggest piece of garbage inflicted on a trekker. I took it to Colombia and Venezuela alpine areas in February/March 2009 and it failed dismally.
Condensation big time and leaking big time. Also, the poor design saw hail stones unable to fall from the surface.
This tent is a BIG heap of garbage. Four season? Oh please.

I just ordered this tent and am returning it without using it for two reasons:
1. You cannot sit up inside the tent (I am a 5'8" woman)
2. Where the exterior poles cross prevents captures any snow that might fall on your tent. So, you would either have to get out of the tent now and then to sweep snow off or risk collapse.

I bought this tent because I liked the look of it. It's a good looking tent so that's one star.
It pitches easy (another star), has some nice features (one more star) such as the vents and has great build quality (star).
Now I've only used so far in situations it wasn't really designed for. That is hiking on Dartmoor in the UK during spring with humidity in the 90s at times. But then again off design use might interest you.
First night very little breeze and camped near a stream with rear of tent up against a small hill. Night time temp above 32F and a bit more. Ground around camp was marshy. Left open all vents but closed up door fully. In morning inside of tent felt very clammy and some condensation had pooled on to floor. However it wasn't enough to soak a hiking towel.
Second night a little more breeze and camped near a stream but out in the open. Night time temp just below 32F. Ground around camp dry. Left open all vents and top of door. In morning inside of tent felt just a little clammy and no condensation. Where the floor meets the walls there were slivers of ice which I knocked off and through out the tent.
Third night was breezy and I camped on the slope of a Tor. Night time temp above 32F. Ground around camp dry and lots of boulders. Left open all vents and top of door. In morning inside of tent was completely dry. Repeated camping in open on top of Tors for next three nights with all vents open and top of door. A little less breezy, overcast, 90s humidity. Never any condensation in morning.
One star for performing very well out of design spec.
Lose a star for zips snagging often, daft pole bag, cheap guy rope material, pegs.
Hope to use it in the rain sometime. Don't miss having a vestibule cause I don't often bring stuff in with me.
(By the way I have an Arc'teryx Naos 55 which you can leave out in the rain and a Mountain Hardware Spirit Sl which has a waterproof breathable membrane.)

좀 더 참고 기다려 2인용을 살껄 그랬나 싶은 생각이..
가끔은 수민이 데리고 다녀야 하는데, 캠프랜드 월텐트는 쫌 그런데...
그리고,
좋은 세상이 좀 빨리 오면 좋겠다.
배추 비싸니 양배추 먹으면 된다는 소리에 정말 기가 막혔다.
어제는 음향대포로 기가 막히게 만들더니
그전에는 카지노 유람선으로 어처구니없게 만들더니...
아휴....
